National Honor Society
National Honor Society recognizes students who exhibit outstanding character, leadership, scholarship, and service.
Members of the National Honor Society provide service to Fitch High School and the greater Groton community. Services include facilitating the after-school peer-tutoring program, raising money for the NHS Scholarship Fund, and assisting with freshmen orientation, as well as graduation.

Applying to NHS
All eligible candidates will receive an invitation letter in the mail at the beginning of Semester 1. Seniors with a weighted 4.0 cumulative GPA will be invited to apply.
Application Timeline and Process
- All eligible candidates who wish to pursue NHS must complete the application packet and two recommendation forms.
- Application packets can be picked up in the Main Office. Electronic copies of the application and recommendation forms are linked below.
- One recommendation form must be completed by a teacher; one must be another adult who knows you from an extracurricular activity.
- Recommendations must be submitted in a signed and sealed envelope, with the sender's signature across the seal.
- Completed application packets are to be submitted to the Main Office by Friday, September 22 at 2:20 p.m. Late submissions will not be accepted.
